Screw Air Compressor Oil Seal Installation Method? The installation direction of the oil seal must not be mistaken. Small components must be given extra attention during replacement. Reasons for Screw Air Compressor Oil Seal Leakage After a period of use, oil may sometimes seep out from the pulley area of a screw air compressor. This is generally due to shaft seal leakage. There are many factors causing screw air compressor shaft seal leakage, as detailed below:

1. The working environment of the screw air compressor is too dirty. Sludge and impurities contacting the lip of the shaft seal cause rapid wear.

2. Poor oil return. Most compressor heads have a return oil hole from the shaft seal cavity to the suction chamber and a check valve made of fluororubber. During normal operation, the suction chamber is under negative pressure, drawing excess oil from inside the shaft seal back into the unit via the return oil hole and check valve. When the suction chamber is under positive pressure, the check valve prevents oil and gas from affecting the shaft seal. Therefore, if the return oil passage is blocked by dirty oil, impurities, or carbon deposits, poor oil return leads to leakage. In some cases, self-repair may result in the loss or omission of the fluororubber ball, causing the shaft seal to be squeezed by a large amount of oil under pressure through the return oil hole, leading to leakage.

3. Some models have an O-ring seal between the oil seal sleeve and the shaft. If the pulley is not tightened properly during assembly, the sleeve may rotate, wearing the O-ring and causing leakage.

6. Axial external force or poor coaxiality (common in heads with gear speed increase). Such heads often use couplings for power input. Improper adjustment and assembly of the coupling may generate axial external force and poor coaxiality, causing relative跳动 between the shaft seal sleeve and the lip, leading to rapid wear. Note that the half-coupling on the compressor head side must be installed using the thermal method.

7. Improper maintenance. When disassembling the compressor head for any reason, care must be taken not to damage the shaft seal lip. Moreover, when reinstalling the oil seal, special tools and processes must be used (this is very important). If replacing the oil seal yourself, it is recommended to use genuine parts and replace the shaft seal sleeve simultaneously. Otherwise, it is difficult to pass pressure tests and meet maintenance standards.
