Hemispherical Emissometer (D&S AERD)
Rapidly measures the emissivity of various solid surfaces.
Hemispherical emittance: The ratio of the radiant exitance of a thermal radiator in the hemispherical direction to that of a full radiator (blackbody) at the same temperature.
Principle: The thermopile inside the detector is heated to create a temperature difference between the detector and the sample plate. This temperature difference has a linear relationship with the emissivity of the sample plate. By comparing the temperature differences between high and low emissivity standard plates and the sample surface, the emissivity of the sample plate is determined.
