GB 5009.225-2023 National Food Safety Standard - Determination of Ethanol Concentration in Alcoholic Beverages and Edible Alcohol (Fourth Method: U-shaped Oscillation Tube Digital Density Meter Method).
Determination of alcohol content in various alcoholic beverages, such as: fermented/brewed beverages (beer, wine, fruit wine, yellow rice wine), distilled spirits (baijiu, brandy, whiskey, vodka, rum, gin, milk liquor, other distilled spirits), blended alcoholic beverages/liqueurs (plant-based blended beverages/liqueurs, animal-based blended beverages/liqueurs, plant and animal-based blended beverages/liqueurs, other blended beverages) for alcohol content analysis.

Note: Alcohol content (ethanol content): Refers to the number of milliliters of ethanol (alcohol) contained in 100mL of the alcoholic beverage at 20°C, expressed as a percentage by volume.

High-Precision Digital Display Alcohol Concentration Meter (ALM-155) Working Principle:

The high-precision alcohol concentration meter ALM-155 works by directly heating and distilling the alcoholic sample to remove non-volatile substances. The distillate is then restored to its original volume with water. The distilled sample is drawn into the U-shaped oscillation tube of the digital alcohol concentration meter. Changes in the density of the sample in the U-shaped tube cause changes in vibration frequency. The instrument automatically calculates the relative density of the distillate based on the vibration frequency at 20°C. It comes with a built-in conversion table for the relative density of alcohol-water solutions to alcohol content, allowing direct measurement of the volume percentage of alcohol in the sample.
Note: For binary mixture solutions of ethanol and water, the alcohol concentration can be measured directly.
