The lightning warning system achieves real-time monitoring, comprehensive perception, and imminent warning of lightning activities in large oil and gas storage bases and adjacent areas by collecting lightning-related information in real time. Its basic functions are as follows:

1. Real-time lightning monitoring, capable of detecting lightning characteristic parameters such as the ground atmospheric electric field in real time. Real-time lightning monitoring primarily detects key parameters such as changes in the atmospheric electric field before and after lightning occurrences, as well as the time, location, intensity, polarity, and number of return strokes of lightning events.

2. Imminent lightning warning, including information such as lightning warning levels, warning time, warning areas, and warning cancellation. Imminent lightning warning refers to predicting the occurrence of lightning activity within a specific timeframe in the area of concern and defining warning levels and durations based on the probability of lightning activity. The lightning warning level and duration are critical to the conduct of production activities within the warning area and are the most fundamental warning factors.

3. Statistical query of historical lightning data, capable of querying and statistically analyzing lightning warning information within the coverage area. Statistical query of historical lightning data provides data support for later lightning accident investigations and analysis of regional lightning activity characteristics.

3. System Composition

The lightning warning system consists of a lightning detection module, a data processing module, and a user terminal, among other components. 4. Product Features

Lightning warning information is divided into three levels:

1. Level 1 Warning: Possible lightning activity. The atmospheric electric field in the coverage area is intensifying, with fluctuations in the electric field. The location of cloud-to-ground return strokes is within adjacent areas 10 kilometers away from the large oil and gas storage base, with the potential to cause lightning strike accidents.

2. Level 2 Warning: High likelihood of lightning occurrence. The atmospheric electric field in the coverage area is rapidly intensifying, with increased fluctuations in electric field changes. The location of cloud-to-ground return strokes is 5-10 kilometers away from the large oil and gas storage base, increasing the possibility of lightning strike accidents.

3. Level 3 Warning: Lightning is imminent. The atmospheric electric field in the coverage area is fluctuating violently. The location of cloud-to-ground return strokes is 0-5 kilometers away from the large oil and gas storage base, with a high probability of causing lightning strike accidents.
