Product Purpose: This kit is specifically designed for measuring the sizing degree of paper and paperboard in accordance with the requirements of GB-T 460-2002—Determination of Sizing Degree of Paper (Ink Line Method).

Sizing Degree Measurement Kit Method

① According to GB/T 450, cut a 150mm*150mm sample and mark the front and back sides. At least three samples are required for each side. Wear gloves during operation to avoid direct hand contact with the test surface.

② Adjust the width of the line marker to correspond with the paper being tested. For example, 0.50mm for 40-50g paper, and 0.75mm for 60g paper. Fill it with standard ink.

③ Lay the sample flat on a glass plate, hold the line marker at a 45° angle to the glass plate, and quickly draw a straight line (should draw over 10cm within one second).

④ If the ink does not spread or penetrate, continuously adjust (increase) the pen width and draw lines until spreading or penetration occurs. If spreading or penetration occurs, continuously adjust (decrease) the pen width and draw lines until no spreading or penetration occurs.

⑤ After air-drying the sample naturally, compare it with the transparent standard width gauge (disregard the first and last 1.5cm of the sample). The maximum width of lines on each side without spreading or penetration is the sizing degree of the paper.
