Cyclopentanol

Cyclopentanol, also known as hydroxycyclopentane, is a colorless oily liquid with a distinctive musty odor. Its relative molecular mass is 86.14, with a relative density of 0.9478. It has a melting point of -19°C and boiling points of 140.85°C, 56.4–57.4°C (at 4.533 × 10³ Pa), and 53°C (at 1.333 × 10³ Pa). The refractive index is 1.4530, and the flash point is 51°C. It is slightly soluble in water but soluble in ethanol. It forms an azeotropic mixture with water, containing 42% of this compound, with an azeotropic point of 96.3°C.
