I. Overview of Belt Dryer Equipment

The belt dryer is a commonly used continuous drying equipment , widely applicable in industries such as chemical, food, pharmaceutical, building materials, and electronics. It is particularly suitable for drying materials with good air permeability, such as sheets, strips, and granules. For filter cake and paste-like materials, drying can also be achieved after shaping through a granulator or extruder.

Its basic principle involves distributing the material to be processed onto a conveyor belt through an appropriate feeding mechanism (such as a star-type distributor, oscillating belt, crusher, or granulator). The conveyor belt passes through a channel composed of one or several heating units, each equipped with an air heating and circulation system. Each channel has one or several dehumidification systems. As the conveyor belt moves, hot air passes through the material on the belt from top to bottom or bottom to top, ensuring uniform drying of the material. Heat energy is provided by steam, thermal oil, flue gas, or electricity, generated by steam radiators or electric heating elements. Convective heat transfer is facilitated by fans, which transfer heat to the material while continuously supplying fresh air and expelling moist air. The drying chamber maintains appropriate relative temperature and humidity, with the key feature being that most of the hot air circulates within the chamber, enhancing heat and mass transfer and saving energy.

II. Common Applications of Belt Dryers

Food Industry: Dried coconut, coconut flakes, seaweed, fruits, vegetables, mushroom extract, chicken bouillon, monosodium glutamate, plant roots, stems, leaves, flowers, etc.

Pharmaceutical Industry: Traditional Chinese medicine slices, honeyed pills, pharmaceutical granules, etc.

Chemical Industry: Iron oxide (formed into sheets), fibers, soap base, titanium oxide, sludge, etc.
