Howrey NHFR 1188A NAT/BLK is a polyether-based, halogen-free flame retardant thermoplastic polyurethane blend. This flame retardant TPU is easy to extrude and process, exhibiting a matte finish. It also possesses excellent flame retardant properties, along with good heat resistance, low-temperature flex resistance, and hydrolysis resistance.

Before processing, Howrey 1188AME BLK should be dried at 105°C for 3-4 hours to ensure the moisture content is below 0.03%. It is recommended to use a dehumidifying dryer or at least a hot air drying hopper. Recommended extruder parameters for processing Howrey 1188AME BLK: compression ratio of 2.5-3.0, length-to-diameter ratio of 25:1-30:1.
Additionally, the extrusion line speed affects the surface roughness of the cable; lower speeds result in a glossy cable surface, while higher speeds lead to a rough cable surface.
