Novec™ 7200 has a boiling point of 76°C, and its solvency is suitable for vapor phase decontamination, wet cleaning, and purification of FOUP (Front Opening Unified Pod) wafer carriers. The low surface tension of this chemical fluid enables the cleaning of light contaminants, such as microparticles, fluorinated oils, minor oil stains, and fluorinated polymers. Novec™ 7200 can also be used in combination with other solvents for cleaning heavy contaminants. Novec™ 7200 does not deplete the ozone layer (ODP = zero), has a low global warming potential (GWP = 55), and a short atmospheric lifetime (ALT = 0.77 years). It is not classified as a volatile organic compound (VOC). Novec™ 7200 is recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a Significant New Alternative Policy (U.S. EPA SNAP) approved substance.
