American Chemetall Borax

Zhong'ai Borax, also known as borax pentahydrate, is one of the agrochemical series of boron compounds from the American Borax Group. It appears as a white crystalline powder with a density of 1.815 g/cm³ and a melting point of 75°C. It is easily soluble in hot water and glycerin, and its aqueous solution is alkaline. When heated to 120°C, it completely loses its crystalline water.

Imported Borax Pentahydrate

Chemetall Borax is produced by recrystallizing a solution of sodium tetraborate decahydrate, controlling the feeding temperature above 70°C and the crystallization temperature above 60°C, followed by filtration and drying below 120°C. It can also be produced by dissolving natural boron ore in hot water, filtering and separating, washing with a 25% mother liquor at this temperature for 10 minutes, centrifuging the crystallized borax pentahydrate, and then drying the wet crystals using airflow.
