Dual Iron Foot Marine Zinc Block ZH-11
The self-dissolution rate of zinc anodes is relatively low. There are many types of zinc anodes, including high-purity zinc, Zn-Al series alloys, Zn-Sn series alloys, Zn-Hg series alloys, Zn-Al-Mn series alloys, Zn-Al-Cd series alloys, etc. In China, basic zinc sacrificial anodes were previously mostly used in soil environments with resistivity less than 20 ohm-meters or in seawater environments. The electrode potential is -1.10V CSE, with a driving voltage of 0.25V. When the temperature exceeds 49°C, intergranular corrosion occurs; above 54°C, the electrode potential of the zinc anode becomes positive, and its polarity with steel reverses, turning it into a cathode that is protected, while the steel becomes an anode and corrodes. Therefore, zinc anodes are generally used in environments with temperatures below 49°C. Zinc anodes must use backfill material. Initially, pure zinc anodes were used, but later, ternary zinc alloys, i.e., Zn-Al-Cd series alloys, became the primary choice. Zn-Al-Cd series alloys are commonly referred to as ternary zinc sacrificial anodes. They feature good dissolution performance, high current efficiency, reliable protection effects, ease of manufacturing, and low cost. The electrochemical performance of sacrificial anodes mainly depends on the chemical composition of the anode material. Zinc alloy sacrificial anodes, marine zinc blocks, specialized zinc anodes for corrosion protection, zinc anodes for activated sewage, disc zinc anodes, bolted zinc alloy anodes, threaded zinc anodes, welded zinc anode manufacturers, zinc anode performance, price, usage instructions
Product Specifications: Zinc anodes of various shapes can be provided according to customer requirements, such as rectangular, square, bracelet-type, and other custom shapes.
The cathodic protection method using zinc anodes involves connecting a metal or alloy that easily loses electrons to the steel equipment being protected. For example, this method is applied in the protection of steel sluice gates. A more reactive metal, such as zinc, is connected to the steel gate. Thus, during electrochemical corrosion, the more reactive metal is corroded, while the iron is protected. Typically, a certain number of zinc blocks are installed at the stern of ships and below the waterline of the hull to prevent corrosion of the hull, which is an application of this method. Currently, electrochemical protection is applied not only to steel equipment in seawater or rivers but also to prevent corrosion of cables, oil pipelines, underground equipment, and chemical equipment.
