Magnesium anodes feature high driving voltage, low current efficiency, and high cost. Depending on their shape and electrode potential (open circuit potential), magnesium anodes can be used in soil or freshwater environments with resistivity ranging from 15 ohm-m to 150 ohm-m. They are generally not recommended for environments with soil resistivity below 10 ohm-m. High-potential magnesium anodes have a potential of -1.75V CSE and a driving voltage of 0.85V; low-potential magnesium anodes have a potential of -1.55V CSE and a driving voltage of 0.7V. The operating temperature can reach up to 100°C. When the remaining weight of the sacrificial anode is 15% of its initial weight, the anode is considered depleted. Therefore, the utilization rate of the anode is generally taken as 85%. Based on the anode, a new concept anode product with accessory kits is introduced, making construction more convenient and time-saving for customers, better meeting their needs.

Installation Methods and Requirements for Sacrificial Anodes
1. The burial depth of the connecting cable for the packaged sacrificial anode (hereinafter referred to as the anode) should be no less than 0.7 meters, with extra length reserved during laying.
2. When connecting the anode cable接头 to the pipeline, thermite welding technology should be used.
3. Before welding, clean the welding point on the pipeline to expose the metal surface.
4. After welding, the weld point should be re-protected against corrosion, strictly following the drawing requirements.
5. After placing the anode bag (cotton bag) into the anode pit, pour sufficient water (discard the outer nylon packaging bag) to ensure thorough soaking.
6. The burial position of the anode should be no less than 0.3 meters away from the pipeline.
7. The anode should be buried below the frost line.
8. When burying an anode group (referring to connecting more than one set of anodes at a single connection point on the pipeline), the distance between anodes should ideally be 2 meters.
9. During backfilling after anode burial, compact and water every 20-30 cm of backfill. Continue backfilling and compacting after water has seeped through, ensuring the backfill material is saturated, leveling the ground, and restoring the terrain.
10. No metal structures should be present between the burial position of the anode and the pipeline.
11. If a long section of the protected pipeline is encased in concrete, which may cause a drop in potential at that section, install one additional sacrificial anode at each end of the concrete-encased section to compensate.
