Product Overview
Barium petroleum sulfonate is available in liquid and solid forms. It is derived from petroleum lubricant fractions through sulfonation and alcohol-water extraction, followed by saponification with barium salt and further refining. It is used as a rust inhibitor in rust-preventive oils and greases. The liquid form of barium petroleum sulfonate offers greater convenience in use, is unaffected by high temperatures, easier to store, and eliminates the need for melting during application. Barium petroleum sulfonate exhibits excellent resistance to humidity, salt spray, saline water, and possesses water-displacing properties. It provides superior rust prevention for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. When heated, it demonstrates good oil solubility and adsorbs onto metal surfaces to form a protective film, thereby preventing metal corrosion and rusting.

Applications
·Barium petroleum sulfonate is suitable for use as a rust inhibitor in rust-preventive oils and greases, such as in formulating displacement-type rust-preventive oils, inter-process rust-preventive oils, preservative oils, as well as lubricating rust-preventive oils and rust-preventive greases.

Usage Method Add 3%–15% barium petroleum sulfonate when blending oil products.
