Product Overview
The UG series quartz glass tube level gauge is a new type of on-site direct-reading liquid (interface) level measurement instrument developed by our company. It successfully overcomes the shortcomings of glass plate level gauges, such as heavy weight, large sealing area, and multiple leakage points, making it the next-generation replacement for glass plate level gauges. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical, power, metallurgy, and other fields to directly observe the liquid level or interface level of various medium and low-pressure containers. Compared with ordinary glass tube and glass plate level gauges, the main advantages of this instrument include: the ability to achieve dual-color (vapor red, liquid green) display for liquid level and three-color (green, red, blue) display for the interface between two media; lightweight, small sealing area, few leakage points, and excellent sealing performance; resistance to high temperature, high pressure, and strong corrosion; intuitive and clear display of liquid level and interface level, with no blind spots, enabling remote observation. It is an ideal instrument for liquid and interface level measurement.
Working Principle
The UG series quartz glass tube level gauge mainly consists of an upper valve, lower valve, gauge body, quartz glass tube, drain valve, and other major components (see Figure 1). The flanges or threads on the level gauge are connected to the corresponding flanges or threads on the container to form a communicating vessel. Based on the principle of communicating vessels and the principles of light transmission and reflection, the liquid level in the container can be directly observed.

The level gauge can be connected using loose flanges as per user requirements, facilitating installation.
Product Classification and Application Range
The UG series quartz glass tube level gauge can be divided into three types based on display color: single-color display (for liquid level measurement), vapor red-water green dual-color display (for liquid level measurement), and red-green-blue three-color display (for interface measurement). Based on functionality, it can be classified into heat-traced type, frost-proof type, illuminated type, no-blind-spot type, wide liquid chamber type, corrosion-resistant type, steel-lined PTFE type, extra-long type, viscous and wall-adhering type, high-pressure type, boiler drum special type, and flushing type. The specific application ranges for each type are as follows:
1. Single-color type: Mainly used for observing the liquid level of opaque, dark-colored liquids with poor light transmittance.
2. Dual-color type: Mainly used for observing the liquid level of colorless transparent or light-colored liquids with good light transmittance.
3. Three-color type: Mainly used for observing the interface between two liquids.
4. Heat-traced type: Mainly used for applications where the measured medium requires insulation.
5. Frost-proof type: Mainly used for applications where the operating temperature of the measured medium is below zero and prone to frosting.
6. Illuminated type: Mainly used for applications requiring observation at night.
7. No-blind-spot type: Mainly used for applications requiring the visible range to be the same as the center distance.
8. Wide liquid chamber type: Mainly used for applications where the measured medium has high viscosity or requires a larger instrument volume.
9. Corrosion-resistant type: Mainly used for applications involving highly corrosive media at room temperature and pressure.
10. Steel-lined PTFE type: Mainly used for measuring the liquid or interface level of highly corrosive media with pressure ratings ≤2.5MPa and operating temperatures ≤240°C.
11. Extra-long type: Mainly used for applications with center distances exceeding 2500mm.
12. Viscous and wall-adhering type: Used for viscous, opaque, colored, dirty, easily crystallizing, wall-adhering media that require frequent flushing.
13. High-pressure type: Mainly used for measuring the liquid or interface level of media with pressure ratings >6.3MPa and ≤10.0MPa.
14. Boiler drum special type: Used for measuring the water level of high-temperature and high-pressure boiler drums.
15. Flushing type: Used for measuring the liquid level of opaque, colored, dirty, wall-adhering media that require frequent flushing.
