Uses: Primarily used in industry to produce other potassium salts such as potassium hydroxide, potassium carbonate, potassium nitrate, potassium sulfate, potassium chlorate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, potassium permanganate, etc. It is also widely used in the petroleum industry, rubber industry, and electroplating industry. In healthcare, it serves as a diuretic and salt substitute. It is also used as one of the components in the electrolyte for the electrolysis of magnesium chloride to produce metallic magnesium.
