The movement of the material at the intermediate bearing relies on the thrust from the material advancing behind it. Therefore, the transportation of material in the conveyor is entirely a sliding motion. To keep the spiral shaft in a more favorable tension state, the driving device and discharge outlet are generally placed at the same end of the conveyor, while the feed inlet is placed as close as possible to the other end near the tail.The rotating spiral blades push the material for transportation. The force that prevents the material from rotating with the spiral conveyor blades is the material's own weight and the frictional resistance of the conveyor casing against the material.
