Structural Formula: I. Properties and Applications AA/AMPS is a copolymer of acrylic acid and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS). Due to the presence of carboxyl groups with excellent scale inhibition and dispersion properties, as well as highly polar sulfonic acid groups in its molecular structure, it enhances calcium tolerance. It exhibits significant scale inhibition against calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, zinc scale, etc., in water, prevents iron oxide deposition, and particularly offers high inhibition efficiency against calcium phosphate. It also has outstanding dispersion performance. When compounded with organic phosphonates, it shows a notable synergistic effect. It is especially suitable for high pH, high alkalinity, and high hardness water conditions, making it one of the ideal scale inhibitors and dispersants for achieving high concentration cycles. AA/AMPS can also be used as a textile dyeing and printing auxiliary and as a scale inhibitor in paper pulp systems. II. Technical Specifications Comply with HG/T3642-1999 III. Usage Methods Item | Specification | Appearance | Colorless to light yellow viscous liquid | Solid Content % ≥ | 30 | 40 | Free Monomer (as acrylic acid) % ≤ | 0.5 | 0.8 | Density (20℃) g/cm³ ≥ | 1.10 | 1.15 | Intrinsic Viscosity (30℃) dl/g | 0.055 - 0.100 | - | pH (1% aqueous solution) ≤ | 2.0~3.0 | 3.5 - 4.5 |
AA/AMPS can be used in combination with organic phosphonates and zinc salts, suitable for pH conditions of 7.0~9.5.
IV. Packaging and Storage AA/AMPS is packaged in plastic drums, with each drum containing 25 kg, 200 kg, or 250 kg. Custom packaging is available based on customer requirements. AA/AMPS has a shelf life of ten months. V. Safety and Protection AA/AMPS is acidic. Pay attention to labor protection during operation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. |
