CAS No. 26677-99-6 Structural Formula I. Properties and Applications MA/AA is a low molecular weight polyelectrolyte, copolymerized from maleic acid and acrylic acid in a specific ratio. It exhibits strong dispersing effects on carbonates and other substances, high thermal stability, and can be used under harsh conditions such as high temperatures up to 300°C. It has good compatibility and synergistic effects with other water treatment agents. It effectively inhibits the formation of scale, including phosphates. Due to its excellent scale inhibition and high-temperature resistance, MA/AA is widely used in low-pressure boilers, central heating systems, central air conditioning, and various circulating cooling water systems. It can also be used as a chelating dispersant in the textile printing and dyeing industry.
II. Technical Specifications Compliant with GB/T 2229-1991 Item | Water Treatment Agent | Appearance | Brownish-yellow transparent liquid | Solid Content % ≥ | 48 | Free Monomer (as maleic acid), % ≤ | 9.0 | Density (20°C), g/cm³ ≥ | 1.18 | pH (1% aqueous solution) | 2.0 - 3.0 |
III. Usage Method Used in combination with other organic phosphonates, the dosage is generally 2–10 mg/L. The dosage of MA/AA as a textile printing and dyeing auxiliary and detergent booster should be determined through testing. IV. Safety and Protection MA/AA is acidic. Pay attention to labor protection during operation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. V. Packaging and Storage MA/AA is packaged in plastic barrels, 25 kg or 200 kg per barrel. Shelf life: twelve months. |
