Chlorhexidine Acetate

This product is a white or off-white crystalline powder, odorless and bitter. It is soluble in ethanol and slightly soluble in water. As a biguanide cationic surfactant, it has broad-spectrum antibacterial effects. It works by altering the permeability of the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, causing the leakage of cellular contents and thereby exerting a bactericidal effect. It is effective against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and also has strong antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. A notable feature of this product is its extremely low toxicity, and it is essentially non-irritating to the skin at usage concentrations.
