Pluronic RPE is a block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, serving as a nonionic surfactant. The molecule consists of polypropylene oxide groups at both ends and a polyethylene oxide group in the center. The Pluronic RPE series can be used in detergents for the dairy, brewing, and soft drink industries, in cleaners for removing iron filings and flakes from metal parts of machinery, and in other industrial cleaners; it can also be employed as a low-foaming surfactant and defoamer in dishwashing detergents and rinse aids.
