Low or medium temperature grain storage is a temperature-controlled storage method that maintains grain temperature below 18°C by regulating the depot temperature, thereby enhancing storage stability. Grains have strong respiratory activity, and nutritional components are lost as grain temperature rises. Temperature control in grain depots effectively reduces the loss of nutrients and quality changes, thus preserving the freshness and quality of the grain.
Function of the Unit
When the ambient temperature is higher than the grain temperature and humidity increases, natural ventilation should be promptly stopped, and mechanical ventilation should be adopted instead. The grain depot cooling air-cooled unit delivers dehumidified, refrigerated, low-temperature fresh air to the depot, mechanically cooling the grain, food, and other stored items. This ensures the temperature inside the depot reaches the effective storage temperature.
Principle of Grain Cooling
The cooled air from the grain depot cooling air-cooled unit serves as the cold source, entering the ground plenum through the depot's air inlet and being delivered from the bottom of the grain pile. The cold air diffuses upward or outward, lowering the grain temperature as it passes through the pile. The air then returns through the duct to the unit for further cooling and recycling. Within a certain period, the grain temperature is reduced to the preservation temperature.
Principle of Grain Surface Temperature Control
During summer and autumn, high external temperatures cause the space above the grain surface to heat up, affecting the grain temperature. The grain surface temperature control unit primarily cools the upper space of the grain surface, maintaining the temperature inside the warehouse below 18°C to ensure the grain pile remains at an average low temperature below 18°C for extended periods. The unit requires exhaust and return ducts to be connected inside the depot, extracting air from the depot into the grain depot cooling air-cooled unit for cyclic cooling, effectively controlling the temperature and humidity inside the depot.

The integrated type is more versatile, with the main unit placed outdoors for space cooling, requiring only duct connections indoors for fresh or recirculated air.
