Cyclobutanone is the starting material for the synthesis of 1-aminocyclobutanecarboxylic acid. The solvent for water-based inks generally uses deionized water as the main solvent, with an appropriate amount of cyclobutanone organic solvent added. The aldol condensation reaction of cyclobutanone with aldehydes can directly synthesize the new synthetic building block 2-alkylidenecyclobutanone.
It is a widely used intermediate.
