Fireplace glass is exclusively available in smoked tint; clear glass has inferior heat resistance. Smoked glass is the standard for fireplace use. This product comes in thicknesses of 4mm and 5mm and can be in direct contact with open flames. Custom shapes are available, including circular, arched, square, rectangular, round-head, oval, trapezoidal, reverse R-corner, circular, and more.

About Chamfering:

Chamfering is done to protect the glass. By default, we provide a small rounded edge (R-corner). If you have special requirements for chamfering, please contact us when placing your order. R-corner and C-corner safety chamfering are free of charge; large chamfers may incur additional fees depending on the situation.

Glass Thickness:

Domestic glass thickness is 4mm.

Imported German Schott glass is available in 4mm and 5mm thicknesses.

Tolerance is ±0.2mm.

For small quantity purchases, if no thickness is specified, we will ship based on available offcut materials. If thickness is specified, we will ship according to the requested thickness.

For bulk purchases, the default quotation is for 4mm thickness. If you require a quotation for 5mm, please specify.

Fireplace Glass Installation Notes:

1. Although the thermal expansion coefficient of fireplace glass panels is nearly zero, the design of the door frame must account for the thermal expansion of the frame material. Allowance must be made for assembly tolerance between the frame and the glass panel (generally, some gap should be reserved for the frame material to expand and contract with heat).

2. During installation, avoid bending the panel due to contact pressure. This can be achieved by limiting torque or using depth-limiting fixtures for screws (in simple terms, do not overtighten screws during installation to avoid deforming the glass, which could lead to breakage during use).

3. The glass panel should not be in direct contact with the metal frame. It is recommended to use thermally stable, permanently elastic sealing materials (such as asbestos rope, fiberglass, or other high-temperature soft sealing materials).

4. During installation, protect the glass panel, especially the vulnerable edges, from scratches, impacts, and abrasions.

5. If using high-temperature silicone on the glass panel, consider the elastic limit of the silicone. Due to the excellent adhesion between glass and silicone, exceeding the limit may cause the glass to break.

Sealing Material Selection:

Common sealing materials for fireplace installation include asbestos rope, graphite packing, refractory wool, and fiberglass wool.

Note: Do not use adhesive to directly bond the glass to the door frame.

Installation Mistakes:

Many customers need to replace their original glass after it breaks, but the original installation method may not be correct. A typical mistake is using metal clips that press directly on the glass without any soft material in between. When the fireplace is lit, the metal expands under heat and exerts pressure on the glass, causing it to break under force.

The correct installation method involves placing a soft refractory material, such as asbestos cloth, between the glass and metal clips, and ensuring the installation is not too tight.

Dimensional Tolerance Explanation:

Glass processing involves tolerances. For circular glass pieces under 200mm, we can control the error within -0.5mm. For larger circles, the error is typically around 1mm. Square and rectangular pieces have larger tolerances; smaller pieces may have an error of about 1mm, while larger pieces could have errors of 2-3mm. If you require high dimensional accuracy, please consult customer service before ordering to confirm if we can meet your requirements.

Product Packaging:

For small-sized glass, we typically use cardboard boxes with foam padding and ship via Deppon Express at no extra packaging cost.

For large-sized or bulk orders, we use wooden crates, which may incur an additional fee.

Regarding Shipping:

As this product is made of glass and is fragile, customers must inspect the shipment upon delivery to ensure it is intact before signing. If any damage is found, please take photos immediately, inform customer service, and refuse to sign. We will arrange a replacement.

No replacements will be provided if damage is discovered after signing for delivery.
