Calcium Stearate

Properties: White fine powder, melting point 130-155°C, relative density 1.08. Insoluble in water, cold ethanol, hot benzene, and turpentine; slightly soluble in hot ethanol. Decomposes into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salts when exposed to strong acids. Hygroscopic in air. Not resistant to lipolytic microorganisms. Decomposes at high temperatures to form stearone and hydrocarbons. This product can be considered non-toxic.

Applications: Calcium stearate is used as a non-toxic heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, offering good lubricity, non-toxicity, and excellent processing performance. It is commonly used in food packaging films, medical devices, and other non-toxic soft products. When used with basic lead salts and lead soaps in rigid products, it can accelerate gelation. In polyethylene and polypropylene, it eliminates the adverse effects of residual catalysts on resin color and stability. It is also widely used as a lubricant and release agent for thermosetting plastics such as polyolefins, polyester reinforced plastics, phenolic resins, and amino resins.

Packaging and Storage: This product is packaged in 20 KG bags with woven sacks and inner liners. Store in a cool, ventilated, and dry place. Keep away from fire, moisture, acids, alkalis, and corrosive substances. Do not store together with acids, alkalis, or corrosive materials.
