Wax Powder 3920F Modified PTFE Coating Enhances Scratch Resistance

Clariant 3920F is a modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) polyethylene wax produced by Clariant. It appears as a white fine powder with an average particle size of approximately 6 microns, a melting point of 124-129°C, and a density of 1.00-1.03 g/cm³. Its acid value is ≤1.0 mgKOH/g, and the total heavy metal content is below 100 ppm. It is non-toxic to aquatic organisms and bacteria at room temperature and does not require hazardous material labeling [1-2].

This product is prepared through a micronization process and is primarily used in the coatings industry (can coatings, coil coatings, powder coatings) to enhance scratch resistance and surface smoothness. It is also employed in cosmetics as an abrasive and viscosity modifier. Packaged in 20 kg paper bags, with 600 kg per pallet, it is recommended to store in a dry, room-temperature environment with a shelf life of ≥2 years. Note that exposure to high temperatures above 300°C may release harmful decomposition products.
