Water-resistant silica gel is a heterogeneous formed silica gel produced by further processing of general-purpose silica gel. It appears as white or gray porous granules, insoluble in water and inorganic acids, with its main component being SiO₂·nH₂O.

Applications

1. Mainly used for drying and purification of compressed air; in the air separation industry as an adsorbent for acetylene and carbon dioxide; industrial catalyst carrier; drying of industrial gases, water purification, etc. Used as a desiccant for various gases, pre-stage buffer desiccant for molecular sieves and silica gel protective beds, catalyst carrier, and ion adsorbent.

2. Air drying, acetylene adsorption in the preparation process of liquid air and liquid oxygen.

3. Used as a liquid adsorbent and catalyst carrier in industries such as petrochemicals, power, and brewing, and for water purification in water treatment.
