Coarse-pored microsphere silica appears white, transparent, or semi-transparent, with a uniform microporous structure inside. It exhibits stable physicochemical properties, excellent thermal stability, and high mechanical strength. Coarse-pored microsphere silica is used as a catalyst carrier in the production of important industrial products such as melamine, phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride, cis-polybutadiene rubber, and acrylonitrile. It is also widely employed in the refining of petrochemical products to remove aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as for the selective adsorption and separation of organic gases and liquids, and ion exchange to remove harmful multivalent elements from water.
