The Roots water jet vacuum unit can be designed with one-stage, two-stage, or three-stage Roots vacuum pumps based on the vacuum degree requirements of the user's process. It is named the Roots water jet vacuum unit and is a vacuum equipment set up to further enhance the vacuum level in production processes.
The Roots water jet vacuum unit is widely used in processes such as vacuum drying, vacuum distillation, and vacuum concentration. Depending on the user's process medium, Roots pumps are available in both corrosion-resistant and non-corrosion-resistant models. Options include a single-stage configuration, where a main pump of 150 can be paired with a backing pump of 280, or the main pump of 150 can also be paired with a backing pump of 360. Technical parameters: The Roots pump has a pumping speed of 150 L/s and an ultimate vacuum of 150 Pa. Users can select the main pump and backing pump models according to their process requirements and vacuum needs to configure the complete system.
The Roots vacuum pump mainly consists of a pair of synchronously high-speed rotating "8"-shaped rotors and two semi-circular pump chambers. This pump cannot exhaust air alone and must be used in series with a backing pump (such as a water jet vacuum unit, sliding vane pump, rotary vane pump, water ring pump, oil ring pump, etc.). Connecting a Roots vacuum pump in series at the inlet of the backing pump can improve the vacuum level of the backing pump and significantly increase the pumping speed within an effective range.
Roots pumps are widely used in vacuum casting, vacuum melting, vacuum degassing, vacuum coating, as well as vacuum distillation and vacuum drying in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The pump is not sensitive to small amounts of dust.
Generally, Roots vacuum pumps are not allowed to operate under high pressure differences, as this may cause overload and overheating, leading to damage. Therefore, when using a Roots vacuum pump, it is essential to reasonably select the backing pump and install necessary protective devices. It is particularly important to note that when the Roots pump is treated for corrosion resistance and its backing pump is a water jet vacuum pump, it can pump corrosive gases with large amounts of water vapor.
