                  Introduction to Ion Exchange Column Equipment

       An ion exchange column involves an equimolar reaction between ions in water and ions on the resin within the column. In simpler terms, it is a traditional water treatment process that uses anion and cation exchange resins to replace various anions and cations in water.

    Dual Bed System: Two exchangers are used, with anion and cation exchange resins loaded into their respective exchangers according to design requirements. The raw water first passes through the cation exchanger, where cations in the water such as Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, K⁺, Na⁺, etc., are adsorbed by the exchanger, and exchangeable H⁺ ions on the exchanger are released into the water, forming corresponding inorganic acids with the anions in the water. The effluent then passes through the anion exchanger.

   Mixed Bed System: In a single exchanger, anion and cation exchange resins are filled in a specific volume ratio. Under uniform mixing conditions, anion and cation exchange occur simultaneously to remove salts from the water.…
