GEMÜ Diaphragm Valve

Quick-install diaphragm valves are shut-off valves that use a diaphragm as the closing element to seal the flow path, cut off the fluid, and separate the inner cavity of the valve body from the inner cavity of the valve cover. The diaphragm is usually made of elastic, corrosion-resistant, and impermeable materials such as rubber or plastic. The valve body is often made of plastic, fiberglass, ceramic, or metal-lined rubber materials. It features a simple structure, good sealing and anti-corrosion performance, and low fluid resistance.

Principle and Composition of Quick-Install Diaphragm Valves

Quick-install diaphragm valves use a corrosion-resistant lined valve body and a corrosion-resistant diaphragm to replace the valve core assembly, utilizing the movement of the diaphragm for regulation. The valve body materials include cast iron, cast steel, or cast stainless steel, lined with various corrosion-resistant or wear-resistant materials, with diaphragm materials such as rubber and polytetrafluoroethylene. The lined diaphragm has strong corrosion resistance, making it suitable for regulating highly corrosive media like strong acids and strong alkalis.

Quick-install diaphragm valves have a simple structure, low fluid resistance, and a larger flow capacity compared to other types of valves of the same specification. They are leak-free and can be used to regulate high-viscosity media and media with suspended particles. The diaphragm isolates the medium from the upper cavity of the valve stem, so there is no need for packing, and the medium will not leak externally. However, due to the limitations of the diaphragm and lining materials, their pressure and temperature resistance are relatively poor, generally suitable only for nominal pressures up to 1.6 MPa and temperatures below 150°C.
