Ethylene glycol is a key raw material in the production of polyester fibers (polyester), polyester films, and polyester plastics (such as PET mineral water bottles). Polyester fibers account for approximately 90% of global ethylene glycol consumption and are widely used in textiles, apparel, home textiles, and industrial materials.

II. Antifreeze and Coolant

As the main component of automotive engine coolant, ethylene glycol significantly lowers the freezing point of water (at concentrations below 60%), preventing freezing at low temperatures. It is also used as a coolant and condensate in industrial cold energy transfer systems.

III. Chemical Intermediates and Solvents

1. Solvents and Diluents: Used as a high-grade organic solvent in paints, inks, industrial cleaners, printing, and dyeing;
2. Chemical Synthesis: Production of surfactants, plasticizers, lubricants, pesticides, and pharmaceutical intermediates;
