As a fundamental equipment in the industrial manufacturing field, the cast iron assembly platform plays an irreplaceable role in machining, inspection, and assembly due to its unique structural design and material characteristics. With its durability and flexible multifunctional design, this platform has become an indispensable tooling fixture in modern industrial production.
In terms of material properties, cast iron assembly platforms are typically cast from HT200 or HT250 high-strength gray cast iron. This material offers excellent wear resistance and compressive strength, and its flake graphite structure can absorb vibrations, ensuring the platform remains stable during operation. After special heat treatment processes, internal stresses in the cast iron are fully released, further enhancing the platform's dimensional stability. In practical use, these material characteristics manifest as resistance to deformation; even under long-term pressure from heavy workpieces and equipment, the platform surface can maintain flatness within 0.02mm/m, meeting the requirements of high-precision machining.
The T-slot structure is a distinctive design feature of this type of platform. The slots have a standard T-shaped cross-section, typically manufactured according to the dimensional series specified by the standard GB/T158-1996. This design cleverly combines fastening and guiding functions, allowing for quick fixation of various tooling fixtures, measuring instruments, or workpieces to be processed using matching T-bolts and nuts. The standard spacing between slots (common specifications include 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, among others) facilitates modular production, enabling users to flexibly adjust fixture positions according to machining needs. It is worth mentioning that the chamfering of T-slots not only ensures smooth sliding of bolts but also avoids stress concentration, extending the service life of the slots.

In terms of surface treatment processes, high-standard cast iron assembly platforms undergo scraping or precision milling. The scraping process creates uniform microscopic pits on the platform surface, which form an oil film during equipment operation, reducing friction resistance when moving workpieces and preventing rust on the platform surface. Precision milling ensures the perpendicularity of the slot sides and the parallelism of the bottom surface, with tolerances controlled within ±0.05mm. The product also undergoes surface quenching treatment, achieving a surface hardness of HB180-240, further enhancing wear resistance.
Durability design is reflected in multiple details. The platform bottom typically features a reinforced rib structure, with grid-distributed ribs not only reducing overall weight but, more importantly, significantly improving the platform's rigidity, increasing its bending strength by over 30%. Considering usage requirements in different environments, T-slot platforms undergo anti-rust treatments, such as喷涂防锈漆 (spraying anti-rust paint) or发黑处理 (blackening). In humid environments, this protective layer delays rusting and extends the equipment's service life. Practical tests show that properly maintained cast iron assembly platforms can be used for over 15 years without losing accuracy, and this cost-effectiveness is a key reason for their widespread popularity.
