Description
Additional Information

Cast iron ground rails are suitable for special-shaped workshops, enabling flexible processing and manufacturing.
Verification of the bearing area of the core head in cast iron ground rails: Generally, core head dimensions are determined based on empirical data and are not verified. However, for cores with significant self-weight or those subjected to substantial buoyancy from molten metal, verification of core head dimensions is necessary to ensure casting quality. There are three types of vertical core heads: both upper and lower core heads are made for accuracy and support, ensuring smooth exhaust in cast iron ground rails.
When using cast iron ground rails, strive to ensure even usage across all parts to avoid localized wear due to overuse. Keep the surface of cast iron ground rails clean and promptly remove any residual iron chips, sand, or other debris from mechanical parts that may fall onto the surface. These residues can cause galvanic reactions with the cast iron in humid environments, leading to surface rust and corrosion. Even in non-humid conditions, such debris can scratch the surface, so timely cleaning is essential.

When filling depressions in cast iron ground rails with body filler, add an appropriate amount of hardener according to the product instructions and mix thoroughly before use. If using vinyl filler for depressions in the bed casting, apply thin layers, typically around 0.5 mm per coat, and allow each coat to dry before applying the next.
Therefore, the molding sand for cast iron ground rails should possess properties such as permeability, wet strength, flowability, plasticity, and yield. The mixture of old sand, new sand, clay, coal powder, and water should be mixed for 6–7 minutes, followed by approximately 5 hours of conditioning. After conditioning, the sand should be sieved and loosened before use to improve permeability and flowability. During the casting process of cast iron ground rails, the molten iron should be inoculated and slag removed before pouring. The pouring process should be continuous and steady to prevent sand wash and the formation of sand holes. Leaking areas should be promptly sealed, and additional molten iron should be supplied to reduce defects such as cold shuts and insufficient pouring.
After use, cast iron ground rails should be wiped clean. If not used for an extended period, apply anti-rust oil to the surface of the marking plate to prevent rusting. Do not stack them during storage to avoid deformation due to stacking pressure. Store cast iron ground rails in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse, avoiding cold and damp areas. Ensure no water droplets remain on the surface.
Deformation of casting molds can occur due to environmental factors, such as uneven or sloped ground where the molds are placed. Casting operations can also cause deformation. When using cast iron ground rails, handle mechanical parts gently to avoid strong collisions between the parts and the rails. If the surface of the cast iron ground rail is impacted, repair any dents or raised areas before resuming use.
Technical requirements for cast iron ground rails: Before painting, inspect the bed casting and use tools to smooth out any uneven surfaces. Remove any surface contaminants. After machining, the bed casting should be rinsed or brushed with a metal cleaner or clean industrial gasoline to ensure the removal of oil stains and other residues. Apply the primer evenly by brushing, spraying, or dipping. Mix the primer thoroughly before use and dilute it to the appropriate consistency before application.
On the working surface of cast iron ground rails with accuracy grades 0 to 3, sand holes with diameters less than 15 mm may be filled with material, provided the hardness of the filler is lower than that of the surrounding material. The number of filled sand holes on the working surface should not exceed four, and the distance between them should be no less than 80 mm. The working surface of cast iron ground rails is typically finished by scraping. For grade 3 surfaces finished by scraping, the allowable surface roughness Ra value is 5.
