CG-62 Piezoelectric Rainfall Sensor

Product Overview

The sensor consists of an upper cover, housing, and lower cover. Inside the housing, there is a piezoelectric sheet and a circuit board. It can be fixed to a vertical pole with an outer diameter of 50mm. The sensor uses the impact measurement principle to calculate the weight of individual raindrops, thereby determining rainfall. During descent, raindrops are influenced by their weight and air resistance, reaching the ground at a constant velocity. According to P=mv, the impact measurement allows for the calculation of raindrop weight, leading to continuous rainfall measurement.

Applications

Suitable for meteorological environment monitoring, comprehensive hydrology and water resources monitoring stations, traffic road monitoring, agriculture, forestry, wind power generation, and other relevant departments for remote measurement of precipitation, rainfall intensity, and rainfall start/end times. Used in flood control, water supply scheduling, hydropower station reservoir management, and other hydrological automatic monitoring systems and field monitoring stations.

Installation Method

Installation on Top of a 50mm Vertical Pole

Compatible with vertical poles with an outer diameter of 50mm (wall thickness ≤3mm). A threaded M6 hole is drilled on the side of the pole, with the hole center 8mm from the top. Secure the sensor using an M6*15 cross round-head screw.

Selecting an appropriate installation location is crucial for accurate sensor measurements. To ensure measurement precision, follow these installation requirements:

1. The piezoelectric rain gauge should be installed horizontally on a bracket at a height of 0.5m or more above the ground.

2. Install the piezoelectric rain gauge in an open area, free from obstructions.

3. Keep the piezoelectric rain gauge away from vibration sources such as construction machinery and outdoor AC units.
