The MTL SD series surge protection devices combine unparalleled packaging density, a wide range of applications, mature and reliable hybrid circuits, easy installation, and an optional "loop disconnect" feature—making this series an ideal solution for surge protection. The extremely high packaging density is achieved through the ultra-thin design of each module, allowing them to be "doubled up" as feedback terminals. Each module provides comprehensive hybrid surge protection for both 2-wire and 3-wire loops.

The SDX devices are available in 7V, 16V, 32V, and 55V versions (corresponding to SD07X, SD16X, SD32X, and SD55X), making them suitable for a variety of applications, including: THC, 4-20mA loops, shutdown systems, fire and gas detectors.

The SDR devices are specially designed to meet the requirements of high-speed data link applications with extremely high bandwidth. With a range of voltage variants, SDR devices can protect various communication systems, such as: RS232, RS422, RS485, bus-powered systems, and more. These devices are classified as simple apparatus, allowing them to be used in hazardous areas without affecting circuit certification.
