Ultrasonic Wind Speed and Direction Sensor CG-09 Multi-Element IoT Weather Station Online Investment Invitation ⊙ Product Overview The ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor, also known as an ultrasonic anemometer, is a wind speed and direction measurement instrument developed based on ultrasonic principles. It uses transmitted sound wave pulses to measure the time or frequency (Doppler shift) difference at the receiving end to calculate wind speed and direction. This sensor can simultaneously measure instantaneous values of wind speed and direction, supporting signal outputs such as current, voltage, 485, and GPRS wireless internet. The entire unit's housing is made of ABS material, making it lightweight with no moving parts, requiring no maintenance or on-site calibration, and capable of outputting both wind speed and direction. It can be connected to computers, data collectors, or other acquisition devices compatible with RS485 or analog outputs. Ultrasonic Wind Speed and Direction Sensor ⊙ Basic Principle Ultrasonic wind measurement is an application of ultrasonic detection technology in gaseous media. It utilizes the effect of air flow (wind) on the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the air to measure wind speed. As an inertia-free measurement method, it accurately captures high-frequency components of gust fluctuations in natural wind. The speed of sound in air is superimposed with the airflow speed in the wind direction. If the propagation direction of the ultrasonic wave is the same as the wind direction, its speed increases; conversely, if the propagation direction is opposite to the wind direction, its speed decreases. Therefore, under fixed detection conditions, the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in air can be correlated with the wind speed function. Wind speed and direction can be obtained through calculation. Since the speed of sound waves in air is significantly affected by temperature, the anemometer detects two opposite directions on two channels, making the influence of temperature on sound wave speed negligible. If the station number has been modified, replace the subsequent 02 with the set station number. Then, recalculate the last two bytes as the 16-bit CRC check and write it. Example response format for wind speed and direction: 02 03 04 01 90 00 C5 CRC16 (CRC double-byte check) Note: Bytes 4 and 5 (0190) represent the wind speed value, and bytes 6 and 7 (00C5) represent the wind direction value. The customer should calculate whether the CRC16 check is correct. Note: Replace the italicized large numbers with the original station number and the regular large numbers with the desired target station number. The customer must calculate the CRC value before sending.
