Compatible with the following test requirements: 1.(4.3.7.6 Frame Vertical Force Fatigue Test) 2. (4.3.7.5 Frame Horizontal Force Fatigue Test) 3. (4.3.8.6 Fork Bending Fatigue Test)
Frame – Horizontal Force Fatigue Test
Mount and secure the frame in its normal position at the rear dropouts so that it is not restricted in rotation (i.e., constrained by the rear axle), as shown in the figure. Ensure the axes of the front and rear axles are horizontally aligned. Apply a dynamic horizontal force of 600N forward and 500N backward cyclically to the front fork dropouts at point C1, as shown in the figure. The front fork is restricted vertically but can move freely in the forward and backward directions under the applied force. The test frequency should be maintained as specified in section 4.3.1.5.
Frame: Horizontal Force Fatigue Test
Test Method
Force on Seat Post
Force, F10 | 1,100 N |
Dimensions in millimeters
Mount and secure the frame in its normal position at the rear dropouts so that it is not restricted in rotation (i.e., by the rear axle), as shown in the figure. Install a suitable roller on the front axle to allow the frame to bend forward/backward under the test force. Insert a predetermined seat post to a minimum insertion depth or equivalent to the seat tube depth, 75 mm from the top of the seat tube, and secure it using a standard clamp according to the manufacturer's instructions. Firmly attach a horizontal rearward extension (E in the figure) to the top of this post so that its length (dimension h3 in the figure) positions point H at the same location as the center of the bicycle saddle clamp for the recommended saddle height of the specific frame, or if saddle height information is unavailable, dimension h3 should be 250 mm.
Note
Horizontal rearward extension
Position equal to the position of the bicycle's saddle clamp center
Free-running roller test method
Fork Bending – Fatigue Test
Force on Loading Attachment
Force, F12 | ±500 N |
Securely mount the front fork in a suitable rigid fixture, ensuring any clamping force is away from the fork. Apply a tensile force of 5000 N to both dropouts along the direction parallel to the fork axle axis for 1 minute.
Note
1 Rotational force attachment
2 Rigid support with headset bearings
