III. Working Principle

The Reed Grain Cooling Unit utilizes an air circulation treatment method to draw untreated air into the unit's air treatment section. After cooling and dehumidification treatment, the air enters through the grain warehouse air inlet into the underground air duct system, where it is delivered from the bottom to the base of the grain pile. Due to negative pressure, the cool air gradually flows upward and diffuses, reducing the grain temperature. Finally, the air passes through a certain thickness of the grain layer and returns from the warehouse exhaust outlet back to the unit's air inlet. Through this cyclic process, the grain layer gradually reaches the predetermined temperature after a certain period. The air circulation principle is detailed in the following diagram:

1. Reduced storage costs

Using conventional storage methods such as ventilation, warehouse transfer, and fumigation, the annual direct storage costs total 195,000 yuan; Using the Reed Grain Cooling Unit storage method saves conventional operation expenses like fumigation and warehouse transfer, with total direct storage costs amounting to 91,000 yuan, saving 104,000 yuan.

2. Avoided grain loss

Using Reed Grain Cooling Unit storage reduces grain respiration dry matter loss, moisture reduction loss, and transfer loss, totaling about 1.08% of total stored grain.
