I. Features and Applications

Used for cumulative dose detection of personal X and γ rays; lithium fluoride thermoluminescent detectors are passive solid-state integrating detectors. Their characteristics include small size (high spatial resolution), effective atomic number close to air and human tissue, immunity to electromagnetic radiation interference, wide measurement range, low measurable lower limit, good reproducibility, and the ability to measure high-dose-rate pulsed radiation fields. They can be applied in personal monitoring of ionizing radiation, environmental monitoring, and specific radiation field measurements (including discrimination measurements in mixed n and γ fields). They are also applicable in fields such as radiological medicine, radiobiology, reactor engineering, and archaeology.

II. Performance Indicators

1. Linear range: 10-7–12 Gy (10 μrad–1200 rad).

For HP(10), x v 20 keV–9 MeV

For HP(0.07), x v 10 keV–1.5 MeV

2. Detection lower limit: 0.1 μGy; relative sensitivity per mg: 30–40 times that of TLD-100.

3. Detection threshold: approximately 10-7 Gy (~10 μrad).

4. Angular response: <11%

5. Batch dispersion: <5% (1σ).

6. Nonlinearity: <3% (repeatability: ≤2%).

7. Operating environment: T < 50%; RH < 90%.

8. Energy response (photons 30 keV–3 MeV): <20%

9. Response to neutrons: The response to absorbed dose from heavy particles has LET dependence, which is beneficial for distinguishing the γ component in mixed n and γ fields.

10. Stability of stored information: No significant fading after one month at room temperature; approximately 3% fading after one month at 50°C.

11. Light exposure effect: No significant response to indoor scattered sunlight, incandescent light, or fluorescent light; response to direct sunlight (ultraviolet light).

12. Cumulative measurement loss within 3 months: <10%;

13. Reusable times: ≥100 times

III. Usage Conditions and Operational Notes

1. Measurement heating program:

It is recommended to use a two-stage temperature program: first stage constant temperature at 135°C for 8 seconds, second stage constant temperature at 240°C for 20 seconds, heating rate: 15°C/s.

2. Annealing conditions for reuse: 240±2°C (must not exceed 242°C), 10 minutes (constant temperature time).

3. Heating and annealing conditions for glass tube elements and powder elements:

Measurement temperature: 270°C, first stage constant temperature at 140°C (10 seconds), second stage constant temperature at 270°C (15 seconds), heating rate: 40°C/s.

Annealing temperature: 240±2°C (must not exceed 242°C), 10 minutes (constant temperature time).
