The geotechnical similar material simulation test apparatus is primarily used for vertical and horizontal loading tests of geotechnical materials, as well as specialized scientific research experiments related to buried pipelines. It facilitates structural performance tests on components such as geotechnical engineering models, soil boxes, pipelines, walls, concrete beams, and steel trusses. It can also conduct tests on columns, beams, trusses, frames, and joints.

When equipped with an artificial rainfall system, seepage system, sensors, and data acquisition system, the geotechnical similar material test apparatus can be used for experimental simulation studies on the mechanical response and disaster mechanisms of foundations, roadbeds, dams, tunnels, and slope engineering under complex conditions. It is widely applied in mechanical performance tests of geotechnical materials, including tension, compression, bending, and fatigue tests.

Structural description of the geotechnical similar material test apparatus: It includes a base, a test box supported on the base with an internal chamber, a reinforcement mechanism supported on the base, an upper bracket for supporting the vertical pressure loading mechanism, and a pressure application assembly for applying lateral pressure to the test soil placed in the chamber. The upper bracket is supported by the reinforcement mechanism, which consists of: a first frame comprising multiple first support columns arranged with their length directions parallel or orthogonal to the vertical direction, enclosing and supporting the outer periphery of the test box; and a second frame comprising multiple second support columns arranged with their length directions parallel or orthogonal to the other orientation of the vertical direction, enclosing and supporting the outer periphery of the first frame. When the reinforcement mechanism supports the upper bracket to simulate vertical pressure distribution on the test soil, the test box does not bear the gravitational load.
