Since hammers need to be fixed on the rotor in impact crushing, there are three main methods for securing the hammers of impact crushers:

1. Bolt Fixation: The hammer is inserted axially into the corresponding slot on the rotor from the side. To prevent axial movement, pressure plates are used at both ends for positioning. By eliminating the need for fastening bolts, the reliability of the hammer's operation is improved. The centrifugal inertia force generated during the hammer's rotation and the reaction force during impact crushing create a self-locking effect, making the fixation secure. The rotor's wear-prone areas are designed as replaceable structures, making installation and removal convenient and manufacturing straightforward.

2. Pressure Plate Fixation: The hammer is inserted into the groove on the rotor from the side, and both ends are secured with pressure plates. However, this method does not provide very firm fixation, and the hammer may become loose during operation. This is because the manufacturing and processing requirements for hammers are very high, and materials like high manganese steel are difficult to machine.

3. Wedge Fixation: Wedges are driven into the corresponding slots between the hammer and the rotor to secure it. Shandong Shan Kuang uses wedges to fix hammers on the rotor. During operation, the centrifugal force makes this fixation method increasingly secure. It is reliable and allows for relatively easy replacement.

In summary, the three methods for fixing hammers are bolt fixation, pressure plate fixation, and wedge fixation. Each method has its advantages. To ensure the optimal performance of the impact crusher, the choice of fixation method should be based on practical conditions.
