The oil-gas separation element is a critical component that determines the quality of compressed air in an air compressor. High-quality oil-gas separation elements not only ensure the high efficiency of the compressor but also extend the filter element's service life to up to 8,000 hours. The compressed air discharged from the compressor head carries oil droplets of various sizes. Large oil droplets are easily separated when passing through the oil-gas separation tank, while small oil droplets (suspended oil particles with a diameter below 1μm) must be filtered through the micron and glass fiber filtration layers of the oil-gas separation filter element. Through mechanisms such as diffusion, direct interception by the filter material, and inertial collision coalescence, the suspended oil particles in the compressed air quickly coalesce into larger oil droplets. Under the influence of gravity, the oil accumulates at the bottom of the oil separation element and returns to the compressor head's lubrication system via the oil return pipe inlet at the concave bottom. This process ensures that the compressor discharges purer, oil-free compressed air. Solid particles in the compressed air are trapped in the filtration layer as they pass through the oil separation element, leading to a continuous increase in the pressure difference (resistance) of the oil separation element. As the service time of the oil separation element increases, when the pressure difference reaches 0.08 to 0.1 MPa, the filter element must be replaced. Otherwise, it will increase the operating costs of the compressor (electricity consumption).
