Installation and Usage

1. During installation, whether using flanges, rubber hoses, or direct connections between the air filter and the engine intake pipe, ensure a tight and reliable seal to prevent air leakage. Rubber gaskets must be installed on both ends of the filter element. Do not overtighten the wing nuts securing the air filter cover to avoid crushing the paper filter element.

2. During maintenance, never clean the paper filter element with oil, as this will render it ineffective and may cause engine overspeed accidents. Only use vibration, soft brushing (along the pleats), or reverse compressed air blowing to remove dust and dirt from the surface of the paper filter element. For the pre-cleaner section, promptly remove accumulated dust from the dust collection area, blades, and cyclone tubes. Even with careful maintenance, the paper filter element cannot fully restore its original performance, and the intake resistance will increase. Therefore, generally, after the fourth maintenance, the paper filter element should be replaced. If the paper filter element is cracked, perforated, or if the filter paper detaches from the end caps, replace it immediately.

3. During use, prevent the paper element air filter from getting wet in rain, as excessive moisture absorption will significantly increase intake resistance and shorten its service life. Additionally, avoid contact with oil and fire.

4. Some vehicle engines are equipped with cyclone air filters. The plastic cover at the end of the paper filter element is a deflector; its blades create air rotation, separating 80% of dust by centrifugal force, which is collected in the dust cup. Only 20% of the inhaled dust reaches the paper filter element, with an overall filtration efficiency of about 99.7%. Therefore, when maintaining a cyclone air filter, ensure not to omit the plastic deflector cover on the filter element.
