Density 0.8892, refractive index 1.405, boiling point 66°C, freezing point -108.56°C. Soluble in water and most organic solvents. Highly flammable. Can form explosive peroxides in air. Reacts with hydrogen chloride under pressure to form 1,4-dichlorobutane. Used as a solvent for natural and synthetic resins (especially vinyl resins), and in the production of butadiene, adiponitrile, adipic acid, hexamethylenediamine, etc. Quality Indicators:
