Equipment Inspection: Equipment inspection should be conducted jointly by the installation unit, supplier, and construction unit representatives, with records maintained. Verify the specifications and models of the transformer body and accessories against the equipment list, construction drawings, and technical documents to ensure they meet design requirements. Check for completeness, absence of loss or damage. The transformer body should show no damage or deformation, with paint intact and undamaged. Inspect insulation porcelain parts and epoxy resin castings for damage, defects, or cracks. Secondary transportation of transformers should be handled by lifting operations with electricians assisting. Use a truck crane or chain hoist for lifting. During transportation, protect the porcelain insulators by covering high and low voltage insulators with cloth or cardboard boxes to prevent damage. Avoid impact or severe vibration during transportation. When using mechanical traction, the point of force should be below the center of gravity to prevent tilting. The transportation tilt angle should not exceed 15° to avoid internal structural deformation. For large transformers, verify the high and low voltage side directions before moving or unloading to prevent difficulties during installation. Transformer Installation: The transformer can be positioned directly into the transformer room using a truck crane, or temporary tracks can be set up with timber, using a three-step setup and chain hoist to pull it into the appropriate indoor position. During installation, ensure the orientation and distance from the wall match the drawings, with an allowable error of ±25mm. If not specified in the drawings, align longitudinally with the tracks, and maintain a横向 distance of at least 800mm from the wall and 1000mm from the door.


For transformers that have developed short circuits or high no-load losses due to moisture, if the coil has short-circuited, the shorted coil must be removed and rewound. For transformers that are moist but not yet short-circuited, do not energize them to avoid insulation breakdown; instead, place them in a drying oven to restore insulation performance. If the no-load loss is high but the insulation resistance (between coils, between coils and the core) is normal, indicating possible poor core quality, high iron loss, or local coil short circuits, use a short-circuit tester for inspection and resolve the issue before reuse. If internal faults such as broken wires or short circuits are confirmed, the transformer must be disassembled for repair as follows. First, disassemble the iron core. Transformers are often filled with materials like asphalt or wax; heat to melt and separate them before disassembly. Also, desolder the transformer leads from the terminals, remove the fixing clamps, pry open the silicon steel sheets with a screwdriver, and pull them out one by one with pliers. Handle the silicon steel sheets carefully to avoid damaging the coil leads and prevent breaking or bending. Collect the removed silicon steel sheets, wrap them in paper, and store them to prevent loss and insulation damage.
