SCM415 is a Japanese steel grade, equivalent to the domestic grade 15CrMo, and corresponds to ISO-693-17-1999's 15CrMo4. This steel is a low-carbon alloy steel with high thermal strength and oxidation resistance, as well as good comprehensive mechanical properties. It is an alloy structural steel used in boilers and steam turbines for superheater tubes, steam conduits, and corresponding forgings in high-pressure boilers below 530°C.

Standard: JIS G4053 Low-alloyed steels for machine structural use
And: JIS G4105 Chromium molybdenum steels
Equivalent to China's: 15CrMo
Japan's old grade is SCM21. Fully carburized heat treatment with inner and outer diameter grinding, strong toughness, super wear resistance, stable quality, suitable for: cylinder pistons. SCM415 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, after carburizing treatment, surface hardness reaches HRC 62-64. It is a pearlitic heat-resistant steel with high strength, slightly lower toughness, high endurance strength, good machinability and cold deformation plasticity, and acceptable weldability. Generally used in normalized and high-temperature tempered states.
