3. Working Principle:
JM-II Preservative works by slowly releasing formaldehyde, inhibiting Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas, and selectively inhibiting yeast and mold.
4. Physical and Chemical Properties:
JM-II is an off-white, free-flowing, hygroscopic powder (hygroscopicity does not affect its antimicrobial activity), with a slight formaldehyde odor. A 1% aqueous solution has a pH=6.0-7.0. This product is stable, hygroscopic, and should be stored in a dry, ventilated place. It is easily soluble in water, has very low oil solubility, a very low oil-water partition coefficient, and will not migrate from the aqueous phase.
5. Performance Characteristics:
(1) At a concentration of 0.3%, it achieves a 99.99% kill rate against Escherichia coli, 100% against Staphylococcus aureus, 100% against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and 99.70% against Candida albicans at room temperature. When used in combination with parabens, it effectively inhibits bacteria, mold, and yeast, forming a broad-spectrum antimicrobial system.
(2) The safety and hygiene quality of this product have been reviewed and approved by the Shanghai Chemical Toxicity Evaluation Standardization Technical Committee, and it is classified as non-toxic and non-irritating.

8. Shelf Life and Storage Conditions:
When the packaging is intact and unopened, and stored in a dry, ventilated, clean, and room-temperature environment, the product has a shelf life of two years.
II. Application Introduction
1. Application Areas:
Widely used in cosmetics such as creams, lotions, and shampoos.
2. Usage Method:
Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3%
Applicable pH range: 0.3-9.0
Usage temperature: ≤100℃
It is recommended to use in combination with other preservatives or methylparaben and propylparaben to form a broad-spectrum antimicrobial system. Particularly suitable for formulations rich in nutrients and requiring high preservative efficacy.
Methylparaben is dissolved in the aqueous phase, propylparaben is dissolved in the oil phase, and JM-II is dissolved in a small amount of water and added after emulsification.
3. Precautions:
JM-II is a highly effective broad-spectrum preservative with good antibacterial properties. During use, it should be combined with preservatives that have strong antifungal activity to enhance its efficacy against both bacteria and mold.

Test Method:
According to GB 7919-87 standard, 0.04ml of the test sample was applied to a filter paper in a patch test device, which was then affixed to the flexor side of the forearm of the test subject. It was fixed with non-irritating adhesive tape and removed after 4 hours. After washing off any residue with warm water, skin reactions were observed at 1, 24, 48 hours, etc. The subject's own skin served as the control.
