The compressor piston ring is a critical component inside the compressor, installed in the piston's ring groove and tightly fitted with the cylinder wall. It plays a key role during the reciprocating motion of the piston. The following are the main functions and features of compressor piston rings:

1. Sealing Function: The primary function of the piston ring is to ensure the seal between the cylinder and the piston, especially in air compressors. It prevents compressed air from leaking from the high-pressure zone to the low-pressure zone, thereby improving compression efficiency and overall system performance.

2. Heat Conduction Function: The piston ring quickly conducts the substantial heat generated by compression from the piston top to the cylinder wall. With the help of the external cooling system of the cylinder, it effectively reduces the piston temperature, preventing damage caused by overheating.

3. Oil Control Function: The oil ring (also known as the scraper ring) is responsible for scraping off excess lubricating oil adhering to the cylinder wall, preventing oil from entering the combustion chamber or compression chamber. At the same time, it ensures that an appropriate oil film thickness is maintained on the cylinder wall for necessary lubrication and cooling.

4. Support Function: The piston ring also supports the smooth operation of the piston within the cylinder, preventing direct contact between the piston and the cylinder wall, thereby reducing friction loss and wear.
