Its operational principle involves monitoring changes in gas pressure and temperature inside pipelines or equipment to detect potential explosion or fire hazards. Pipeline Emergency Venting Device (Flameless Explosion Vent) Working Principle:
The flameless venting device consists of two parts—an explosion vent panel and a flame extinguishing module. The explosion vent panel responds to rapid increases in deflagration pressure, immediately opening to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open vent panel, it is intercepted by the flame extinguishing module. The precision stainless steel mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and preventing propagation, thereby avoiding secondary or multiple explosions. The flame extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open vent panel.
Simultaneously, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are significantly reduced. As flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor element, heat exchange occurs, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flame, venting pressure and smoke, while also reducing pressure waves or noise from production equipment.
Application Fields:
Widely used in industries such as grain, metallurgy, chemicals, power, light industry, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, machining, and solid waste treatment. Applicable equipment includes cyclones, bag dust collectors, dust collectors, cartridge filters, pneumatic conveying systems, rod or ball mills, bucket elevators, dryers and ovens, roller grinding, buildings, etc.
With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety has become a major concern. In the past, explosion vent panels were commonly installed on dust collectors to release overpressure caused by dust explosions. However, such installations on indoor equipment are not permitted by safety regulations because they endanger surrounding personnel and equipment. The pressure waves and flames from an explosion could trigger secondary or multiple explosions, posing risks. Therefore, relying solely on explosion vent panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flameless explosion venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or explosion suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.
There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.
Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.
Isolation: Uses an explosion isolation valve to block the explosion and prevent flame propagation.
Suppression: Detection devices identify sparks and trigger fire suppression systems to instantly extinguish flames, preventing explosions.
