A flame-free explosion venting device is a safety apparatus designed to protect equipment and personnel by automatically shutting down equipment or pipelines in the event of an explosion or fire, thereby preventing the spread of flames or the escalation of an explosion. Its operational principle involves monitoring changes in gas pressure and temperature inside pipelines or equipment to detect potential explosion or fire hazards. If a threat is confirmed, the device immediately shuts down the equipment or pipeline while releasing pressure to safeguard both machinery and personnel.

Working Principle of Dust Pipeline Flame-Free Explosion Venting Device:

The flame-free venting device consists of two parts—an explosion-proof panel and a fire extinguishing module. The explosion-proof panel responds to rapid increases in deflagration pressure, opening immediately to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open explosion-proof panel, it is intercepted by the fire extinguishing module. The stainless steel precision mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and preventing its propagation, thereby avoiding secondary or multiple explosions. The fire extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open explosion-proof panel.

Simultaneously, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are significantly reduced. As flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor, heat exchange occurs between the arrestor and the flames, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flames, venting pressure and smoke, while also reducing pressure waves or noise from production equipment.

Application Fields:

Widely used in industries such as grain, metallurgy, chemicals, power, light industry, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, machining, and solid waste treatment. Applicable equipment includes cyclones, bag dust collectors, dust collectors, cartridge filters, pneumatic conveying systems, rod or ball mills, bucket elevators, dryers and ovens, roller grinding, buildings, etc.

With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety has become a major concern. In the past, explosion venting panels were commonly installed on dust collectors to release overpressure caused by dust explosions. However, such installations on indoor equipment are not permitted by safety regulations because they endanger surrounding personnel and equipment. The pressure waves and flames from explosions could trigger secondary or multiple explosions, posing risks. Therefore, relying solely on explosion-proof panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flame-free venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.

Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.

Isolation: Uses an isolation valve to block the explosion and prevent flame propagation.

Suppression: Detection devices identify sparks and trigger fire suppression systems to instantly extinguish flames, preventing explosions.
